Football Recap: Dreher Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Dreher ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 36-30 W over the Richland Northeast Cavaliers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Devils also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Brandon Mack continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 243 yards and one score.

Mack was just one part of a punishing run game: Dreher was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

With the victory, Dreher broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Richland Northeast, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dreher will host Lancaster at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Bruins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Richland Northeast, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against A.C. Flora at 7:30 p.m. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 11.7 points per game this season, so the Cavaliers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
