Softball Recap: Ponce De Leon Triumphs

Ponce De Leon lost to Baker on March 10th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Ponce De Leon came out on top against Baker by a score of 6-2.

Aubrey Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Clara Martin was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. C Stapp also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Ponce De Leon's record now sits at 4-5. As for Baker, their record is now 6-4.

Looking ahead, Ponce De Leon will look to defend their home field on Monday against Geneva at 4:30 p.m. As for Baker, they will face off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
