Baseball Game Preview: George County Rebels vs. Germantown Mavericks

The George County Rebels will challenge the Germantown Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Friday, George County came up short against Catholic and fell 6-1. The matchup marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Preston McAdory was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, George County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayler Havard, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Germantown didn't have quite enough to beat West Lauderdale on Saturday and fell 4-2.

Germantown also got a good showing from Chase Boutwell, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

George County now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Germantown, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Germantown's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. George County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game.
