Basketball Recap: Bastrop Takes a Loss

Bastrop entered their matchup against Richwood on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Bastrop took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richwood. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Richwood this season, with their most recent defeat being a 91-64 loss last Tuesday.

Bastrop's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Richwood, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-9.

Bastrop and Richwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Bastrop (ranked 56th) will meet Jonesboro-Hodge (ranked 284th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bastrop will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Richwood will take on St. Frederick at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 172 places (35 vs. 207).
