Recap: Gateway Christian vs. Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators
Gateway Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenbrier Christian Academy. Gateway Christian has not had much luck with Greenbrier Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Gateway Christian players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evalyn Snider, who scored 11 points. Rime Lamrabet was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Greenbrier Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Elizabeth Thome scored 18 points and Linda Hodge scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Hodge scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Buchanan, who scored six points.
Gateway Christian's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
Gateway Christian will face off against StoneBridge at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. StoneBridge's defense has only allowed 28.1 points per game this season, so Gateway Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Hampton Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton Christian Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
