Basketball Recap: Southwood Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Eastern came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Southwood, but Bryce Wilcox wouldn't allow it. The Southwood Knights put the hurt on the Eastern Comets with a sharp 65-39 win on Saturday thanks in part to Wilcox, who almost dropped a double-double on 35 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Liddick, who posted seven points and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Southwood pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Eastern, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-2.

When Southwood and Eastern next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Southwood will try to stop Manchester's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. Similarly, Eastern will try to stop Sheridan's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
