Milford had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 6-1 to make it four. They blew past the Avalon Eagles 94-62. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Avalon fell to 6-1. They were up 24-6 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

When it comes to explaining why Avalon lost, don't look at Josh Novak. Despite the final result, he rushed for 317 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 29 yards and one TD. Novak was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Peyton Scott, who picked up 92 receiving yards and three scores.

Milford will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Walnut Springs at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Avalon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Klondike at 7:30 p.m.
