Shawnee Mission East entered their tilt with Louisburg on Saturday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Lancers, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Shawnee Mission East never let Louisburg on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 26-24.

Rebekah Slaughter paced Shawnee Mission East's offense, picking up nine kills. Slaughter got some help from McGuire Alaina and her 25 assists. Alaina was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Shawnee Mission East's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Louisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee Mission East will host Shawnee Mission West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Louisburg, they will welcome Paola at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Panthers have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
