Softball Game Preview: WestSide Renegades vs. Tug Valley Panthers

The WestSide Renegades will head out on the road to challenge the Tug Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tug Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on WestSide, who comes in off a win.

While Renegades fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. Everything went their way against Van on Saturday as WestSide made off with a 6-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Renegades in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Van's batters probably weren't too happy with Paisley Shannon, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 17 Ks (she gave up two walks).

On the hitting side, Myles Meadows was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Morgan, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Tug Valley's offense. They lost 7-0 to St. Marys on Monday. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Tug Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Lackey, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

WestSide couldn't quite get it done against Tug Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can WestSide avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
