Softball Recap: Leigh Longhorns vs. Leland Chargers        
        
		
            
 In what's become a running theme this season, Leigh gave their fans yet another huge  win on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Leland Chargers  a   6-0 shutout. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Leigh.
  Sophia Gandara made a big impact no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Gandara was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Camryn Manning-Alarcon, who  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI, a  triple,  and a  run.  Madison Oliver was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Leigh's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Leland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leigh will stay at home for another  game and welcome Ann Sobrato at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Leigh is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.7  runs per game this season. As for Leland, they will be playing at home against Willow Glen at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Leland hasn't scored more than one runs for three games straight, a trend the  squad is eager to reverse.
