Softball Game Preview: Frankton Eagles vs. Indianapolis Lutheran Saints

Frankton is a perfect 4-0 against Indianapolis Lutheran since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Saints at 5:30 p.m. Neither Frankton nor Indianapolis Lutheran posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Frankton's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alexandria-Monroe on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Paige Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Lutheran has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 11-0 to Perry Meridian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Saints have suffered since April 11th.

Frankton moved to 10-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Frankton beat Indianapolis Lutheran 6-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
