Football Recap: Center Roughriders vs. North DeSoto Griffins

After flying high against Spring Hill last Friday, Center came back down to earth. The Roughriders were outmatched by the North DeSoto Griffins and fell 49-20. The Roughriders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Despite the loss, Center saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaysis Villegas rushed for 138 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Villegas' longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards.

North DeSoto was led to victory by Luke Delafield and Braelyn Latin. Having lost for the first time this season, Center fell to 2-1. As for North DeSoto, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Center has already played their next match, a 38-27 defeat against Daingerfield on the 19th. As for North DeSoto, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-28 victory against West Monroe on the 19th.
