Softball Game Preview: Norwayne Bobcats vs. Perry Panthers

The Norwayne Bobcats are taking a road trip to take on the Perry Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwayne is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

On Thursday, Norwayne made easy work of Smithville and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Abby Workman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Workman was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, MaKenna Heyden was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Maddy Workman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Norwayne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .368 or higher in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Perry fell victim to Green and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Norwayne, their record now sits at 16-1.
