Basketball Game Preview: Ennis Lions vs. Red Oak Hawks

Ennis is 2-8 against Red Oak since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ennis Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Red Oak Hawks at 8:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Ennis is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since November 23rd on Saturday. They fell just short of Athens by a score of 67-64.

Meanwhile, Red Oak ended up a good deal behind Lancaster on Saturday and lost 67-48. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Tigers are ranked 27th).

Ennis' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Red Oak, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 12-8.

Ennis was dealt a bruising 69-42 loss at the hands of Red Oak in their previous meeting back in February. Can Ennis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
