Softball Recap: Iola-Scandinavia Takes a Loss

Iola-Scandinavia was the 10-0 winner over Shiocton when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rayanne Clendenning spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Iola-Scandinavia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Printz, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Iola-Scandinavia's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Shiocton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Iola-Scandinavia will face off against rival Amherst at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Shiocton is set to take on their familiar foe Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
