Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Sandhills Classical Christian

Cornerstone Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sandhills Classical Christian Lions. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 17-25, 25-13.

Sandhills Classical Christian was led to victory by Riley Jackson and Jersi Olsen. Jackson had 17 digs and five aces, while Olsen had ten digs, six kills, and four aces. Olsen is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lyla Hainley, who had three aces.

The victory got Sandhills Classical Christian back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cornerstone Christian Academy will take on rival Christ the Cornerstone Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Meanwhile, Sandhills Classical Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Mintz Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on September 4.
