Basketball Game Preview: West Rowan Falcons vs. Salisbury Hornets

The West Rowan Falcons will challenge the Salisbury Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, West Rowan didn't have too much trouble with East Rowan as they won 59-45.

Evan Kennedy had a dynamite game for West Rowan, going 8 for 19 on his way to 24 points and three steals. That's the most points Kennedy has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Salisbury entered their tilt with Lexington on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Yellowjackets 75-42. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 33 points or more this season.

Salisbury pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.1 points. As for West Rowan, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9.

West Rowan took a serious blow against Salisbury when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 90-58. Thankfully for West Rowan, Juke Harris (who went 11 of 19 on his way to 33 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
