Softball Game Preview: Barnesville Shamrocks vs. Buckeye Local Panthers

The Barnesville Shamrocks will take on the Buckeye Local Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Barnesville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Buckeye Local's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Barnesville is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Martins Ferry just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Purple Riders, falling 10-3. The matchup marked the Shamrocks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Buckeye Local came out on top against Toronto on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Panthers blew past the Red Knights 9-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Barnesville's loss dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Buckeye Local, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Everything went Barnesville's way against Buckeye Local in their previous matchup back in March, as Barnesville made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Shamrocks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
