Basketball Recap: Harper Thober and Ben Myers Secure Win for Shelton

Shelton won the last time they faced Blue Hill and things went their way on Friday too. The Shelton Bulldogs snuck past the Blue Hill Bobcats with a 62-56 win.

Leading Shelton to victory were Ben Myers and Harper Thober. Myers dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards, while Thober went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Myers is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Will Stewart, who posted seven points.

Shelton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Shelton's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Blue Hill, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelton will be taking part in a tournament against Giltner at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Shelton is facing Giltner at the right time seeing as Giltner is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Blue Hill, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
