Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Comes Up Short

Ridgeview lost against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Ridgeview Mustangs came up short against the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons, falling 46-23. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while the Falcons are ranked 122nd).

Ridgeview has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 16 of their last 18 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview will head out to take on LeRoy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley has already played their next contest (against Deer Creek-Mackinaw), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
