Port Allen came out on top against Slaughter Community Charter on Saturday thanks in part to Johnny Payne's efforts. Payne wasn't messing around, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. The contest was his fourth straight with at least one stolen base.

Payne and Port Allen will be playing in front of their home fans against North Iberville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pelicans got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Bears thanks in part to Payne: he scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
