Basketball Recap: Georgia Gardner and Addison Tucker Secure Win for Hubbertville + How To Watch

Hubbertville had won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 1-1 to make it five. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the South Lamar Stallions 49-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since December 30, 2024.

Leading Hubbertville to victory were Addison Tucker and Georgia Gardner. Tucker posted 19 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Gardner scored 13 points along with eight assists and eight boards. Tucker has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Kadence Cox was another key player, putting up two points and 11 rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Hubbertville was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Lamar only posted seven.

As for South Lamar, they now have a losing record of 1-2. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Hubbertville: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, South Lamar still got an impressive performance from Meagan Brock, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Madysen Brock, who put up nine points.
