Softball Recap: V.R. Eaton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

V.R. Eaton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eastlake Falcons on Thursday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

Bethany Bolton tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, V.R. Eaton got a massive performance out of Erin Jacinto, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave Jacinto a new career-high. Taryn Adams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

V.R. Eaton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastlake only posted an OBP of .167.

The win (which was V.R. Eaton's third in a row) raised their record to 25-9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Eastlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-11.

V.R. Eaton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
