Recap: Garden City Cougars vs. Robichaud Bulldogs
The Garden City Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 78-48 defeat at the hands of Robichaud. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garden City in their matchups with Robichaud: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Garden City saw an underclassman step up: Drake Willis scored 24 points. That was a full 50% of Garden City's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hiett, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.
Garden City dropped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Robichaud, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garden City will face off against Annapolis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Robichaud, they will head out on the road to face off against Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thurston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Robichaud is ranked 154th).
