Football Recap: Dietrich Falls to Mackay in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Dietrich unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Mackay Miners on Friday, falling 38-0. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Miners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Mackay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grayden Bruley out in front who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Kyren Follett was another key back, gaining 67 total yards and two touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dietrich is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Rockland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mackay, they will face off against Camas County at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
