Softball Recap: Kossuth Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Kossuth had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Choctaw County Chargers on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Aggies, who have now won three contests in a row.

Chloe Clement made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Clement was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Kossuth let Madeline Rhodes and Caliann Mitchell run wild. Rhodes went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Mitchell got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Rhodes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Franks, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

Kossuth's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Choctaw County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-19.

Kossuth will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
