Diamond was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in Spring River Valley. The Wildcats beat Greenfield 20-7 earlier in the week.
Sarcoxie extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Liberal, 41-20. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Miller's dynamic duo of Dalton Gulick and Derrick Estell proved tough for Jasper to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gulick threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns and Estell had 54 yards receiving. Colton Sullivan helped Miller's passing attack out by catching three balls for 35 yards.
Zach Renfro was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 193 yards on 25 carries as Diamond topped the Eagles. Teammate Brodie Bien added to the ground attack by rushing for 47 yards.
Miller's Gulick and Estell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Spring River Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Gulick has thrown for 1253 yards this season, while Estell, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 19 catches for 348 yards. Pierce City's Cedric O'Hara leads the league in rushing yards with 1093.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on McAuley Catholic. As it stands, Pierce City is in fifth, while the Warriors are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Wildcats take on Dustin Baldwin 's team. Greenfield has allowed 125 points this season, while the Cardinals have given up 85. Aaron O'Laughlin's team allowed 20 points last week as it fell to Jimmy Dushane's team.
Miller took down Jasper 48-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gulick ran for 104 yards in the win.
