            Baseball Preview: Orestimba Warriors vs. Escalon Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            The Orestimba Warriors will head out on the road to  take on  the Escalon Cougars  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Orestimba is coming into the  match on  a  six-game losing streak.
Orestimba came up short against  Ripon Christian on Thursday, falling  17-4.
 Orestimba saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ray Montes, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.  Donovan Torres was another,  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
Escalon came out on top against Ripon  on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Cougars blew past the Indians 8-1. The Cougars not only won  on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win  since March 12th (when they won  14-1).
 Brody Abbott made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   eight  hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI and one  stolen base. That  stolen base was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Josh Fiori was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Escalon's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 4-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of  Dylan Ball, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  triple.
 Orestimba's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Escalon, they moved to 11-9 with that  win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
