Cabrillo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Orcutt Academy Spartans a 1-0 shutout. Even though the Conquistadores got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Cristiano Medeiros was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.
Cabrillo's one-goal win came courtesy of Adrian Gaona, who's now up to 11 this season.
Cabrillo's win bumped their record up to 8-15-3. As for Orcutt Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-17-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
As of now, neither Cabrillo nor Orcutt Academy have any future games scheduled.
