Recap: Marshall Rams vs. Madison Mavericks
The Marshall Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They suffered a rough 78-54 defeat at the hands of Madison. While losing is never fun, Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 878th, while Madison is ranked 137th).
Loss or not, Marshall got some senior leadership from Aric Goodman who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and Aj Torres who scored nine points. The matchup was Goodman's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Flores, who scored nine points.
Marshall has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Madison, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Marshall will take on Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lee is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
