After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Pontotoc, South Pontotoc was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 20-8 margin over the Calhoun City Wildcats. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

South Pontotoc is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Calhoun City, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.

South Pontotoc has already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Houston on the 14th. As for Calhoun City, they will challenge O'Bannon at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
