It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Simi Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mater Dei Monarchs by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The Pioneers' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Jackson Goshorn was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Quentin McGahan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Nicklaus, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Simi Valley's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Mater Dei, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-13.

Simi Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will challenge Foothill at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Monarchs 3.5, the Knights 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
