It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Pioneer Mustangs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 67-58 win over Lincoln. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mussie Yimer, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hooks, who scored 13 points.
Pioneer's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Pioneer will be playing in front of their home fans against Prospect at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prospect is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to challenge Westmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westmont will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
