Softball Recap: Herron Achaeans vs. Warren Central Warriors

After flying high against Greenwood Christian Academy last Thursday, Herron came back down to earth. The Achaeans came up short against the Warren Central Warriors on Thursday, falling 19-7. If the Achaeans were looking for revenge after losing 9-4 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Taylor Cotham made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Page, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Herron has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Warren Central, with the win, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Herron will face off against Horizon Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Herron's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Warren Central, they will host Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
