Soccer Game Preview: Wayne Christian vs. Harrells Christian Academy

The Wayne Christian Eagles will challenge the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Wayne Christian came up short against Greenfield on Tuesday, falling 4-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Wayne Christian were already down 3-0.

Meanwhile, Harrells Christian Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Patriots. The victory was all the more spectacular given Harrells Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Wilmington Christian Academy are ranked 71st).

Harrells Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matchups. As for Wayne Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
