Basketball Game Preview: Como-Pickton Eagles vs. Cooper Bulldogs

Como-Pickton hasn't had much luck against Cooper recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Como-Pickton Eagles will take on the Cooper Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Como-Pickton lost to Boles on the road by a 60-45 margin.

Meanwhile, Cooper entered their tilt with Yantis on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Owls 60-21. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 719th, while the Owls are ranked 1454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cooper pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Como-Pickton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-11.

Como-Pickton lost to Cooper on the road by a decisive 45-30 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Como-Pickton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
