Softball Recap: Alliance Comes Up Short

Alliance was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Field Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aviators of the 14-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Aubrey Lunsford was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Cheyenne Hendershot was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Alliance's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Field, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Falcons beat Alliance by a score of 26-4 later that day.
