The Newberry Panthers will challenge the Crystal River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Newberry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Newberry is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Suwannee just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Thursday. They fell 10-5 to the Bulldogs.

Tavis Honeycutt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Michaux, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Crystal River suffered their closest loss since April 18, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Chiefland by a score of 4-2.

Newberry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Crystal River, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Newberry skirted past Crystal River 8-7 in their previous matchup on March 3rd. Will Newberry repeat their success, or does Crystal River has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
