Volleyball Recap: Springfield Takes Down Archbishop Hoban in a Playoff Battle

Springfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Archbishop Hoban Knights on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Springfield was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-14.

Their offense was headlined by Logan Goodrick and Lorence Sayco, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Reed Schwieterman and his 14 assists. Jonah Sheppard controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Archbishop Hoban, they dropped their record down to 0-18 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Springfield will face off against Walsh Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Hoban does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
