Basketball Recap: Thomaston Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Thomaston can now relate to. They took a hard 70-51 fall against the Shepaug Valley Spartans on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent loss being a 56-52 defeat back in February.

It was another big night for Reed Woerner, who dropped a double-double with 36 points and ten rebounds for Shepaug Valley. Woerner's big performance that evening made it 25 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was James Kersten, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards.

Thomaston's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Shepaug Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 26-0.

As of now, neither Thomaston nor Shepaug Valley have any future games scheduled.
