Volleyball Recap: Jserra Catholic Has No Trouble Against Laguna Beach

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sierra Canyon, JSerra Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Laguna Beach Breakers 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Breakers: they've now won four in a row.

JSerra Catholic never let Laguna Beach on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-14.

JSerra Catholic can attribute much of their success to Paloma Wilkinson, who had 18 digs and one assist. Those 18 digs gave Wilkinson a new career-high. Rochelle Dous also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

JSerra Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

JSerra Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Laguna Beach, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

JSerra Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against San Juan Hills on the 28th. As for Laguna Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Downey on the 25th.
