Softball Recap: West Bridgewater Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After low-scoring totals in their previous six matchup, West Bridgewater brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They put the hurt on the Bourne Canalmen with a sharp 18-1 win on Monday. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Emma Croce was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanna Fidalgo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

West Bridgewater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

West Bridgewater's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Bourne, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coincidentally, West Bridgewater and Bourne will both be playing Fairhaven the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Blue Devils at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Canalmen will head out to face them at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
