Volleyball Recap: Harwood Takes Down Ranked Colchester

Harwood faced Colchester in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Highlanders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lakers. This was payback for the Highlanders, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Harwood never let Colchester on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 27-25, 25-20.

Savannah Fulton paced Harwood's offense, picking up ten kills. Fulton really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 13.

When it comes to explaining why Colchester lost, don't look at Payton Vilmont. Despite the final result, she had 11 assists and two aces.

Harwood's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Colchester, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Harwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colchester, after both having extra time off, they and Mt. Mansfield will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
