Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Reds vs. Snow Canyon Warriors

Cedar is on a six-game streak of home losses, Snow Canyon a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Cedar Reds will welcome the Snow Canyon Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Cedar lost to Crimson Cliffs on the road by a 63-48 margin. While losing is never fun, the Reds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Mustangs are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Snow Canyon ended up a good deal behind Pine View on Wednesday and lost 60-43.

Cedar will need focus on slowing down Joseph Smith, one of several Snow Canyon players who made an impact when they last played. He posted nine points. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gil Lamoreaux, who put up seven points.

Snow Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Cedar, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
