Basketball Recap: Tioga Comes Up Short

On Saturday, Tioga faced Kenmare/Bowbells in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Tioga Pirates took a blow against Kenmare/Bowbells, falling 62-22. The Pirates were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 55 points in the five games prior), but Kenmare/Bowbells' defense proved too tough.

Tioga's loss dropped their record down to 21-3. As for Kenmare/Bowbells, the victory (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.

Coming up, Tioga will square off against Surrey at 4:30 p.m. on February 24th. As for Kenmare/Bowbells, they will challenge Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood at 6:00 p.m. on February 24th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Kenmare/Bowbells has won eight straight at home, while Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
