Baseball Recap: Cortez Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tempe last Wednesday, Cortez came back down to earth. The Colts lost 13-1 to the Desert Sunrise - on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the -: they've now lost three in a row.

Cortez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexander Medinilla Pereira, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Cortez's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Desert Sunrise, the victory got them back to even at 6-6-1.

While Cortez had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
