Softball Recap: West County Has No Trouble Against Scott City

West County barely beat Scott City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Rams on Tuesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

West County let Grace Lynch and Lacey LaMarr run wild. Lynch went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while LaMarr scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Lynch has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Maylee Merrill, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

West County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

West County moved to 10-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Scott City, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

West County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clearwater at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Scott City, they will take on Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
