Game recap: Caravel High School Football Team defeats Poly

BEAR, Del. - the Buccaneers had a big 22-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 43-0 victory over Poly (Woodside, Del.).

Caravel scored on a touchdown run by Pierce Ripanti, a Derrick Groomes touchdown pass to George Murray and a Darnell Savage touchdown run in the quarter.

The lead that CHS took on a touchdown run by Ripanti with 10:00 left in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.

With the win the Bear school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Buccaneers defeated the Panthers 47-0 last week.

Ripanti stood out for Caravel in the win. The senior ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.



CHS came into the game allowing 6.8 points per game.

A 53-17 Caravel victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

Caravel (7-0) will play a non-conference game against Christiana next week, while Poly (1-6) will take on Delmar in a Henlopen - Southern game.
