Baseball Recap: Gardena Comes Up Short

Gardena fell victim to Narbonne and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to the Gauchos. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Gauchos: they've now lost nine in a row.

Bradley Esquivel got Gardena off to a strong start despite the final result, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Esquivel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Gardena's loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1. As for Narbonne, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gauchos beat Gardena by a score of 10-0 on Friday.
