Basketball Recap: Ashby Comes Up Short

Ashby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a blow against the Hancock Owls, falling 82-27. While losing is never fun, the Arrows can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Owls are ranked 49th).

Ashby's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Hancock, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Ashby has already played their next contest (against Wheaton/Herman-Norcross), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hancock will challenge Minneota at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Hancock knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Minneota likes a good challenge.
